Will a wind mitigation report lower my price?
It may document features that qualify for credits on the windstorm portion of the premium. It doesn’t guarantee a particular total price or savings amount. Ask which features the company accepted and whether those credits are already reflected in the quote.
Should I order both reports now?
Before paying, I’d ask the agency which reports the selected company needs, who may complete them and how recent they must be. If the seller has existing reports, ask whether the insurer will accept them for your application.
You can begin your ShopInsure price check with the home details you know. A returned price doesn’t mean the company has accepted an inspection or completed underwriting.
- Confirm the correct property and the date on each report.
- Keep the full report, including photographs and the inspector’s details.
- Tell the agency about repairs or changes made after the inspection.
Is a four-point report my homebuyer inspection?
Treat the insurance request and your purchase inspection as separate conversations. Ask your home inspector what their service covers and your agency what the insurer needs. Citizens’ sample report explicitly explains that its insurance assessment is not a warranty of the systems inspected.
